In 2009, Audi debuted its first every compact sports car to feature the “RS” badge. The new TT RS was available in both coupe and roadster variants from launch. It featured an all-new 2.5L in line 5-cylinder engine that produced 250kw and 450 nm of torque. Power was delivered to all four wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox and Audi’s world-famous Quattro all-wheel drive system. Audi later offered a DSG gearbox option.

Audi did not stop there; the chassis was heavily revised compared to standard TT variants to cope with all the extra power. The rear differential was upgraded, the suspension lowered by 10 mm and the brakes upgraded to huge 370 mm two-piece discs supported by 4 piston callipers up front with 310 mm discs out back. The TT RS featured a new body kit including a fixed rear wing and 19-inch alloy wheels while inside you are greeted by high quality interior materials such as Nappa leather and Alcantara.

Thanks to all these upgrades and a kerb weight of 1 450 kg, the TT RS performance figures are rather impressive: 0-100 km/h comes up in just 4.5 seconds and the top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
