2004 Porsche 911 GT3 (996.2)(FOR SALE)
The first Porsche that bore the “GT3” nametag was introduced in 1999 as part of the 996 model range.
It was a road car focused on racing and named after the FIA GT3 Class, for which it was designed to race in. It was a lightweight car with items that added extra weight removed, such as rear seats, rear speakers, sunroof, radio and air conditioner, although all South African cars were specked with air conditioner and a radio. There was almost no sound deadening in the car in a further attempt to lose weight. The engine was the famous “Mezger” engine designed by Hans Mezger. The 3,6 L flat six boxer engine developed 265 kW or 360 hp. The car weighed only 1350kg. Top speed was 302km/h and zero to 100 took only 4,8 seconds!
This specific car is a 2004 model and has done only 43000 kms from new. This is the MK 2 996 GT3 with the 380 hp engine. Better down force was achieved with a new design front bumper, new side skirts and a new rear wing. Clutch operation was a litter easier on the MK 2 and ground clearance was improved. Other cosmetic changes included the new headlamp design, new design rims and the car now also had a cubbyhole in the interior. The car is finished in Atlas Grey Metallic with black all leather interior. This car also has a Fabspeed exhaust system and KW coil overs fitted, further enhancing an already fabulous car!
These cars have become very sought after and values are creeping up. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to buy a really nice example!
Please take note that all cars can be viewed at showroom by appointment only.
