1995 Porsche 911 Carrera RS (993)
The 993 RS is a lightweight version of the standard Carrera.
The Porsche 993 replaced the 964 model range and was built from late 1994 to early 1998. The discontinuation of the 993 marked the end of air-cooled 911 models.
The Carrera RS was a lightweight variant of the Carrera. The 3,8 L flat six engine produced 221kW or 296hp. Engine modifications included lightweight forged pistons, bigger intake valves, dual oil coolers, lightened rocker arms, Varioram variable-length intake manifold and a modified Bosch Motronic engine management system.
The specialness doesn’t stop there! The 6-speed manual gearbox with a short shifter has modified gear ratios for the first three gears. Larger cross drilled and ventilated brakes front and rear and a limited slip differential was standard on the RS.
The body was trimmed down. The RS has a seam-welded body with an aluminum bonnet, thinner glass and a larger fixed wing on the rear. Headlamp washers were deleted for weight saving purposes and the car was fitted with beautiful, light weight, 3-piece aluminum wheels. The interior was very spartan with no back seats and special racing seats fitted. Sound deadening was also reduced to the minimum. A lowered suspension with Bilstein dampers, adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars, a front strut brace under the bonnet and a sports exhaust completes the package!
This specific car is a 1995 model with only 41,000 kms on from new. It is completely original with a full service history. It is accident free and has never been restored or had any paintwork done on the bodywork. It is finished in Polar silver with black interior with red accents.
Only 1,014 993 RS’s were manufactured worldwide with only 19 of those imported to SA. A rare opportunity to own one of the most special and iconic 911’s ever produced!
