1989 Toyota Hilux 2,4 Double Cab

The Toyota Hilux is a series of pickups manufactured by Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota since 1968. It was sold withy the Hilux name in most markets and is still in production today. The first generation was launched in March 1968; the eight generation was launched in 2015 and has had several upgrades and face lifts since then. The Hilux has been a global success story with almost 20 million units sold worldwide by the end of 2020. In South Africa the Hilux is imbedded in our culture like biltong and boerewors, very much part of the family!

This specific car is a 1989 Toyota Hilux double cab. The car has done 171000kms from new and is in a stunning, all original condition. It has the trusted 2,4 L 22R petrol engine and although you won’t get there very fast, you are guaranteed to reach your destination, over and over and over again! Fitted with mag wheels, a tow bar, roll bar, alarm system and a gear lock, pretty much standard equipment on an eighties Hilux! This car was made before we won the Rugby World Cup for the first time and will still be going when we lift the cup for the tenth time!
