The R107 Mercedes Benz SL was produced from 1971 to 1989. It was replaced by the R129. It was the second longest model ever produced by Mercedes, after the G –Class.

The SL was a two-seater convertible with a standard soft top and an optional hardtop available as well. You could also spec your car with folding seat for the rear bench. From September 1985 the 280SL was replaced with the 300SL. Also, in 1985 the mechanical fuel injection was replaced by the Bosch KE Jetronic system with a more modern engine management computer. It controlled idle speed, fuel rate and air/fuel mixture. The final R107 SL was produced in August 1989, a 500SL, finished in Signal Red. The car is now in the Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart.

This specific car is a 1985 280 SL finished in classic white with a tan interior and a beige soft top. This car also has a detachable hardtop. The car has done 146000kms from new. There is a partial service history available, and the car has been restored to a very nice level. The car is not a concourse car, but it presents beautifully and drives like a dream! This car must be a very good “value for money” example of a Mercedes Benz R107 SL!
