This specific car is a 1600 Sport. The 1600 Sport was released in South Africa in 1979. It had a two door body shell, revised gear ratios and a sporty look making it an instant success! It was the best-selling car in South Africa in 1980 and its popularity continues to this day!
This example has had a few tasteful and practical upgrades done including a 2.0L Zetec motor, fuel injection, ECU done by Clive Wilmot, a Van Der Linde stainless steel exhaust, an aluminum radiator, Girlock disc brakes all round with beautiful Mini Light rims with brand new tyres.
The car runs beautifully and is seriously fast, mechanically well sorted! This is a great opportunity to own an iconic Ford Escort from the 80’s at a very reasonable asking price.
