The Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow was produced by Rolls-Royce between 1965 and 1980 with the Silver Shadow I produced up until 1976 and the Silver Shadow II from 1977 to 1980. It was and still is the largest production volume of any Rolls-Royce.

The design of the Silver Shadow was revolutionary for Rolls-Royce as there were concerns that Rolls-Royce was falling behind in terms of automotive innovation. Another reason for the design change was preparation to sell more Rolls-Royces to mass markets meaning they had to comply with international regulations with regards to size. As a result, the Silver Shadow was the first Rolls to feature a unitary construction, disc brakes all round, independent suspension and hydraulic self-levelling suspension. The earlier models featured self-levelling suspension at the front and rear but in 1969 the front self-levelling suspension was done away with because they found that the rear was doing most of the work. The Silver Shadow was also noticeably smaller than before but because of the new unitary construction, space for the passengers was not compromised and actually increased.

This specific car is a 1976 Silver Shadow right hand drive. The speedometer indicates 19592 miles but it has probably ticked over at least once and has a comprehensive service history. It features the 141kw 6.75L, V8 engine and the 3-Speed Automatic gearbox. Finished in beautiful Chrome yellow with dark brown leather interior, this car is largely original and has been fastidiously maintained. A beautiful, classic car that represents the height of luxury.
