The Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV was introduced in 1971, together with the 2000 Berlina sedan and the 2000 Spider, basically replacing the 1750 engines preceding them. Engine displacement was now 1962 cc and produced 96kW or 130Hp at 5500 rpm. There were some cosmetic changes that distinguish the 2000 GTV. Most notably the chrome front grill with horizontal bars and the bigger light clusters at the rear. On the interior the biggest change was the introduction of a separate instrument cluster.

GTV stand for Grand Turismo Veloce, or a fast GT car, and that the little Alfa certainly is! With its all-aluminium engine with twin overhead cams, two side draught Dellorto carburettors coupled to a 5-speed gearbox, this car was no slouch in its day. Stopping power came from disc brakes all round. The kerb weight was around 1000 kgs, all the ingredients for a light and fast sports car!

This specific car is a 1976 model. The car has been restored some time ago to a reasonable standard. Finished in red with a beige interior and beautiful Momo rims, it presents well. The car is mechanically very good and it drives like a dream. Mileage indicated is 3500 kms but it has obviously clocked over, at least once.

The timeless Bertone designed car has become better with age, like fine red wine and has become a rare sight, with not too many of these still around. A great opportunity to own a magnificent Italian sports car!
