The Ford Mustang is probably the most famous of all American muscle car.

The first Mustangs were introduced in April 1964. These cars were named the “1964 1/2” by Mustang fans. All the cars had 1965 vin numbers though. The 1965 Mustang was the company’s most successful model launch since the Model A. The Mustang is still being produced and is currently in its sixth generation.
