The first version of the Mini was shown to the press in April 1959 and officially announced to the public in August of the same year. The Mark I was launched at the 1967 British Motor Show. It had a larger grille, a larger rear window, and numerous other cosmetic changes. John Cooper, owner of the Cooper Car Company and designer and builder of Formula One racing cars saw the potential for the Mini as a racing car. He appealed to the BMC management and was allowed to create the Mini Cooper. The Austin Mini Cooper and the Morris Mini Cooper debuted in September 1961.

This specific car is a 1967 Mk1 Mini Austin Cooper S with the 1275cc engine. The car has been restored to a very good, original standard. The car is finished in Almond green with an old English white roof. It has competition bucket seats, twin tanks, disc brakes, and a beautiful Astrali steering wheel.

A beautiful example of the iconic Mini Cooper, representing true British motoring history!
