1942 Ford Jailbar Pick-Up (FOR SALE)
Are you looking for a classic Ford pickup for sale?
Ford produced there first pickup truck in 1925. The Jailbar pickups were built between 1942 and 1947. They looked very different from the Ford cars at the time. They had the running gear in common but the focus on the pickups were more on functionality than on styling.
The name “Jailbar” was derived from the distinctive vertical bars on the front grill. The pickups were available ½ ton, ¾ ton. 1 ton and 1 ½ ton capacities. Production was interrupted in 1943 by World War II, but resumed in 1946, pretty much unchanged. Original engines used was a 90Hp straight six-cylinder and a 100Hp Flathead V8.
This specific Pick-up is a 1942 model that has been restored and customized to a very high standard. The Pickup is finished in Old Ford blue with a beautiful tan and brown interior with blue, diamond stitching and a wood rim steering wheel. Lots of bright work, 20-inch American Racing rims with low profile Continental tyres and custom wood inlays on the load bed complete the look!
It is powered by a completely rebuilt Ford 302 V8 engine, fitted with a 4-barrel Holey carburettor. This Pick-up is built on a Jaguar suspension and a Jaguar differential with the original Ford 4-speed manual transmission. It has conventional disc brakes in the front and inboard disc brakes at the rear.
This is a stunning example of this popular Ford Pick-Up, beautifully restored and tastefully customized!
