In the middle to late 1930’s, America was a country recovering from the Great Depression. Chevrolet focused on the design of there trucks and the Chevy pick-ups were considered by some as the best-looking pick-ups of its time!
The 1938 Chevy half-ton truck was the first model designed by Chevrolet’s new Art and Colour Department! With its new vertical front grill, front bumper and swept fenders, the fresh design of this truck was an important link in the evolution of old Chevy pick-ups because it emphasized the importance of design. The 1937-40 Chevy Trucks were known as the “modern “Pickups. They were now available in ¾ and 1-ton models, adding to the ½ ton and 1 ½ ton models already available. There were minor cosmetic changes over the duration of the model years. It was powered by a powerful 3,4L straight six-cylinder, OHV engine.
This specific Pick-Up is a 1939 model that has been subject to a very high standard, nut-and -bolt restoration. It is finished in a beautiful metallic brown with tan leather seat. No expense was spared, and apart from a few tiny paint flaws the car is almost perfect. The original rims are sold with the car as well.
