1932 Ford Hot-Rod (FOR SALE)
The Ford Model A, also known as A-bone among hot rodders was the Ford Motor Company’s second market success, replacing the Model T. The Model A was introduced in December 1927 and by February 1929, one million Model As had been sold. In July of the same year, sales hit two million and when production ended in 1932 almost 5 million cars were sold in the nine different body styles that were available!
Throughout its history, many Ford models have been used as Hot Rods. Some of the most popular models used by customizers were the Model A and Model B cars. These cars were readily available and easy to work on, which led to a wave of customized early Fords.
This specific car is based on an early 1930s saloon and is known as a “Hi-Boy” Hot Rod. Hi-Boys normally had their fenders removed and featured a chopped or modified body. Due to the wide variety and extend of modifications, no two Hot Rods are the same. This car has a 351 Cleveland V8 motor with a four-speed Ford C4 automatic gearbox. It has a stainless steel 4-link suspension kit with coil overs at the rear, disc brakes in front and drum brakes at the rear. Engine performance is enhanced by an Edelbrock intake manifold with a four-barrel Holey carburettor and an MSD Ford crate ignition kit. Cosmetically there is a lot of attention to detail, including the custom rims with whitewall tyres, a wood rim steering wheel, diamond stitched red leather bench seat and even an old fashioned “Aoogha” electric hooter! There is some really nice wood trim, and a beautiful wooden box mounted in the rear. A chrome roll-over cage with a surfboard mounted on top completes this very interesting car!
