2006 Porsche 911 Carrera S (997)
The first Porsche 911 type 997 cars were delivered in November 2005. The 997 replaced the 996 and was basically an evolution of the 996 with mechanical and cosmetic changes and improvements. The most notable exterior change was the replacement of the so called” fried egg” headlamps to the new, more appealing round or “bug-eye” lights.
The Carrera S has a 3.8 L flat six-cylinder engine developing 280kW. It accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 300km/h!
The Carrera S features a few upgrades over the base Carrera which includes increased displacement of the engine (3.8 L vs 3.6 L) with increased power, lowered suspension with PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management, i.e. dynamically adjustable dampers), 19-inch wheels, upgraded braking system from the 911 Turbo and bi-xenon headlights.
