1994 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.6 (964)
Between 1989 and 1994 the Porsche 911 was internally known by the company as the 964. The car had significant styling revisions, of which the integrated bumpers were the most significant. The 964 was also the first 911 derivative to offer all-wheel drive and the Tiptronic gearbox as options in the Carrera models.
The 964 Turbo was launched in March 1990 and it was fitted with the same 3,3 L engine used in the 930 Turbo but with several revisions that made the engine smoother with less turbo lag and more power. Engine power was now 235 kW or 320 hp with 450 N.m available at 4500 rpm. Only 3660 964 Turbos were built.
In January 1993 Porsche announced the 964 3,6 L Turbo., now using the 3,6 L M64 engine with a KKK K27 Turbo charger producing 265 kW or 355 hp and 520 N.m at 4200 rpm. Zero to 100 km/h took 4,0 seconds and top speed was 289km/h! In two years of production less than 1500 cars were made, making it a very rare car indeed. Only five of these cars came to South Africa. This specific car is a 1994 model with only 42000 miles on from new and a full-service history. Finished in Polar Silver metallic with Linen interior this car is absolutely spectacular.
A rare, appreciating Porsche Classic!
