The R107 Mercedes Benz SL was produced from 1971 to 1989. It was replaced by the R129. It was the second longest single ever produced by Mercedes, after the G –Class.

The SL was a two-seater convertible with a standard soft top and an optional hardtop available as well. You could also spec your car with folding seat for the rear bench.

The 500 SL was fitted with a 177kW, V8 engine. It produced 402Nm of torque and top speed was 225km/h. In 1985 the mechanical fuel injection was replaced by the Bosch KE Jetronic system, with a more modern engine management computer. It controlled idle speed, fuel rate and air/fuel mixture. The final 500 SL was produced in August 1989, finished in Signal Red. The car currently resides in the Mercedes Benz museum in Stuttgart.

This specific car is a 1985 500 SL finished in red with a cream interior. The car has done 99,404 kms from new and has a full service history with the Agents and Mercedes Specialists. It is a one owner car, completely original with nothing done to the car apart from normal maintenance and services. All books, spare keys, tools and the hard top are available.
